I was pleased to be invited to offer perspective and commentary recently about Martyn"s Law, also known as the Protect Duty in the UK.
The campaign to bring accountability and realistic safety and security standards to large and small venues in the UK has been led by Ms. Figen Murray, whose son Martyn Hett was killed in the terrorist bombing after an Ariana Grande concert at the Manchester Arena more than 5 years ago. Listen as a mother describes the loss of her son, and her continuous efforts to turn grief into national legislation to save lives in the future. The discussion after Figen's presentation centers around current efforts in the US to address safety and security in crowded spaces and public events.
